My Process

Step One:

Let’s have a Zoom call or get together for a coffee if you’re based somewhere around London or Brighton.

I’ll carry out an informal interview, getting into the nitty-gritty of your brand, your goals, your audience, and your requirements. It’s a deep dive that will help you galvanise your thoughts and help me better understand what you think, what you want, and why.

Step Two:

I’ll send over a quote and firm proposal based on your brief. If you’re happy, we’ll cement timings and deadlines.

Step Three:

I’ll grab some snacks for a thorough research, planning and thinking session, studying your unique features and how we can communicate them in a way that really resonates with your audience. The hooks, angles, themes, and headlines that will get you the results you’re after. Keep an eye out for some more questions at this point.

Step Four:

I’ll hole up and get writing. I’ll start writing and come back to you with a draft. Steps 1 – 3 usually mean zero to minor revisions, but I’ll test and tweak until you’re utterly in love with it.

 

FAQs

What do you charge?

Every job is different. Most of them are quoted as flat fees, based on: length, subject matter, format, audience, deadline, complexity, etc, plus my experience and skillset. This covers research, meetings, knocked-it-out-of-the-park copy, plus two rounds of amends.

My costs aren’t eye-watering London ones. They’re firmly mid-range, reflecting my experience, and plenty of clients have told me how much value they get for their investment.

What sort of businesses do you work for?

Any of them. My specialism is writing great copy. I can write about anything: finance, healthcare, tech, food and beverage, leadership development, charity work, etc etc. Past clients include local businesses, global household brands, scrappy start-ups, busy agencies, and other freelancers. As long as you’re passionate about what you do, I’m in.

Can we work together in-person?

Absolutely. If you find in-person collaboration more invigorating and would rather I pop by the office, just say.

How soon can you start?

I usually have full books for the next couple of weeks and will work with you to agree a reasonable timescale for your project.

Saying that, if you need help fast, I always do my best to accommodate. I’m not one to clock out on the whistle at the end of the day if it’s going to ruin yours.
